I've had an on-again off-again relationship with makeup over the years. Being so pale, 15 years ago as far as I was concerned there just wasn't any sort of face makeup other than translucent powder that was pale enough for me. I did like shadows and mascara, having blonde eyelashes I get really washed out when bare faced.
For some time in my 20s though, I just ditched the makeup. Laziness, who knows but I just didn't care anymore. Then slowly I started getting back into a regular routine of at least wearing mascara. I experimented a bit with gel liner (didn't have a proper brush though so it wasn't too successful), pigments and more shadows.
Then one day I was looking for a video on velcro rollers, I stumbled across Emily (http://www.youtube.com/emilynoel83) and started watching her beauty videos. I was transfixed! I wanted to learn how to do the more advanced techniques with eye makeup, the array of different face makeup options out there.. it just sparked my interest. And so it went, here I am. Happy to have a passion for beauty stuff that hasn't wavered for a couple years.
To mix things up a bit and do stuff that is difficult on a blog with pictures, I started a youtube channel as well. You can find it here: http://www.youtube.com/beyondpalefreckled
I had a boring old corporate IT job doing stuff with too much responsibility, I kept myself entertained by wearing fun makeup to work and reading during my commute/lunch. Now I'm a stay at home mom of 2 boys. Still breaking out the makeup every day and making videos. I don't put much on the blog here anymore, but maybe one day when they're in school I will again. Ha! :D
Thanks for stopping by!
