I was swatching for comparison Maybelline Great Lash in Dark Brown with Benefit They're Real for a post on Brown vs. Black Mascara and I thought I'd share the products I used. I was in the mood for something purple since I've been in warm neutral rut for a while.
As a fun base, I used the ULTA Extreme Wear Whipped Eye Shadow in Whipped Stardust - I love looking at this shadow in the pot and enjoy using it. The name speaks to my dreams of space travel and such, sigh. They appear to be on sale for half price on ULTA's site (http://www.ulta.com - not an affiliate link), I think that it's a formula that wasn't well received. I would say the color payoff isn't fully opaque, and if you slap on a thick layer (easy to do with the texture), it will crack and flake. But if you build up a couple very thin layers, you can get a nice semi-opaque sparkling finish that I personally enjoy!
On my lids, I used the purple crease (third from top on left side) on the outer half, on the inner corner I heavily packed the super shimmery browbone light pinky purple shade (top right), I took the pink/purple/red eyelid shade (second from top on right side) at the outer lashline top and bottom. On the top browbone area, I packed on the white matte/satin browbone shade (top left).
On the right eye, I have Benefit They're Real and the left (not pictured) is Maybelline Great Lash in Dark Brown. Under my eyes, I used Maybelline SuperStay 24 Hour Concealer in Ivory. I've had some trouble in the past using this concealer, but since my under eye skin has been much less dry lately I was able to blend this in with a fluffy brush very easily. I'm quite pleased with how it looks!
